FOCUS Co-Founder & Director, Dr Richard Smith was integral in the development of Day Surgery in ophthalmology. With the advance of technology in eye care, your procedure can be comfortable and stress free. Day surgery is completed in one day, so you don’t have to stay in hospital overnight.

At Focus we think that you deserve to have your procedure in the utmost comfort and relaxation. From the moment you step into our luxurious, state of the art facility you will know that the environment has been custom built with you in mind. Large consulting rooms and increased use of natural light to create comfortable, private, non-threatening spaces for our patients and a comfortable and positive work environment for our team.
Designed by highly respected architect Georgina Wilson to create an atmosphere of warmth and luxuriousness. Georgina has created a state of the art, custom-built, patient focused eye centre. The Focus Eye Centre was awarded the MBA Excellence in Construction Award for Commercial Buildings and was finalist for the Australian Institute of Architects NSW Commercial division awards in 2013.
In designing these new premises, our goal was to create an environment that enhances the patient’s experience, through provision of beautiful, non-threatening and delightful spaces. In addition, this has been an opportunity to reflect and showcase the progressive ethos of Focus in a truly state of the art facility.
